Workout Day 3: sore-er than a muthafcka

whoa, whoa, my calves. Holy shit balls. My calves hurt SO BAD. I did calve-ups at the bus stop burning some time and they worked...a little too much. I took a class today called Body Works Plus Abs and the class was FIRE. I loved it way more than my shitty boo boo aerobics class... PLUS I sweated just as much.

Not to be outdone I took at least two six-mile plus bike rides throughout LA and I'm pooped :(

I ran for the bus and he didn't see me, causing me to make the maddest dash to the next stop I've ever made- nearly giving myself a heart attack and still missing the bus.

Nevertheless my instructor today said that if I did the cycle class 4 times a week it would do wonders. So starting next week it's cycle class + cycling in real life + body works class. I can't give that up.

The bikerowave was AWESOME today as well, lots of really cool people.

I'm too tired to put in the italics and bolds that I really should add.

Whoa, I told my mom "working out is only fun when you're in shape" because holy shit I'm not. I can bike a consistent 2-6 miles without stopping but an hour long step aerobic class? shoot me in the fucking foot.

Not to be outdone I tried running some errands and it didn't work....I just ended up running into one of the homies and we decided to watch a whole season of Venture Brothers...I can't believe I never gave the show a chance for some reason, meh.

Because I truly think it's on its way to doing so. I hardly buy music anymore, I just buy concert tickets, which in reality is the cost of about 3 CDs. So it makes me wonder, is the big business of music tooting its last horn? Who knows? I don't care who knows, but what I do know is that I'm going to see Royksopp on Wednesday and its going to be fcking amazing.

I'll have to make sure I buy some name brand batteries for my digital camera. The generic kind aint shit!

Why the hell isn't there more of a buzz about this band?? They're fcking AMAZING! There's nothing I adore more than electronica (well, reggae) and they managed to meld soulful melody into sexy down tempo electro. How do they do it you ask? They're Canadian! It's cold as shit up there and why not make dope ass music all the time? All we get to down on this side of the border is shoot people. It's crazy, my favorite music is coming out of Canadia.

Truth be told I've had their downloadable ep for MONTHS now and never listened to it. There's a reason I download all the music I do, and I've been known to sit on musical gold for months before discovering its awesome-ness within a grasp, or click of my thumb (I'm on a laptop, bare (bear?) with me).

and I've missed the call several times...but not this time. I've been looking into the best ways to get back overseas and there are plenty. I want to do it in the most legit way possible- thus looking into alternative career plans, like botany and bicycle mechanics.

I love gardening and I love my bicycle and they honestly trump sitting in front of a computer all day. It took going through years of school to learn that I love to work with my hands, and that I truly am one of those creative types my mom talked about.

She said to tell her if I wanted to be all tatted up and not work and just paint...I think I'm coming to that point, and I think a trip back overseas is coming to me soon.

Strange but true

Inventors of a US military robot that powers itself by devouring everything in its path are trying to quash publicity that it will feed on human or animal flesh.

The Guardian says that the Energetically Autonomous Tactical Robot ploughs through trees, grass and even, according to reports, dead bodies.

Headlines have labelled the machine a "corpse eater" and "creepy". The machine's inventors say that it does power its engine by digesting organic material.

"We completely understand the public's concern about futuristic robots feeding on the human population, but that is not our mission," said Harry Schoell, the chief executive of Cyclone Power Technologies, one of the companies behind the machine. "We are focused on demonstrating that our engines can create usable, green power from plentiful, renewable plant matter."

Yeah, whatever. I'll believe that when I'm not having nightmares of flesh eating robots ravaging the population!

I know I know I know it has been waaay too long since I've written anything but sue me. Since then I've lost my job, and my personal life is in quite the disarray.

I feel like a failure because I think I'm lost and I don't know what to do. It's sad. This morning around 5am one of my neighbors had a huge argument. From what I heard, and I heard a lot, it was an argument between a daughter and her parents. Her mom yelled at her that she was lost and that she had it up to HERE with her daughter. The daughter, my age, yelled that she hated herself...and that's the last I really heard before I dozed back off.

But I prayed for them- I wanted to yell 'please if it helps shut the fuck it's 5:09 am for God's sake" but I didn't, I just listened and tried to sleep through it.

I wonder what's going to happen in my future, I feel as indecisive as ever on what my next move will be. I feel something is holding me back- but it's only because I want to be held back - told that I'm more than okay- that I'm loved, that I'm wanted and needed to stay.

Man, I'm tired as SHIT. I was filming with some Seattle crew and the Brimstone posse til the late bit and then road my bike halfway home. Not to mention I got home starving and intoxicated and promptly polished off 3 (or 4) peanut butter and honey sandwiches...mmhhhmm peanut butter and honey is a delicacy, shit was delicious.

But back the subject at hand, I'm tired, I'm slouching, I want to take a nap...maybe I'll ask one of my coworkers if I can sleep in their car during lunch (mad hobo, I know know), because there's no sleeping on my bike (that's for sure).

the tough need a vacation, that's how I truly feel. I know it's been ALMOST (almost) a month since I last updated this blog and I have to say- please forgive me.

On top of having my wheel stolen and being a 60 hour a week hustler for VIMBY/Candied Cartel its left me little time to do me.

And speaking of me (who I love thee most, well next to the most high) I feel lost lately. I feel like my life lacks direction, even though I'm making a steady effort to better my life financially, and truth be told physically, mentally and spiritually- but where's the time?

I'm failing- still living paycheck to paycheck, but living life to the fullest. When I have fun nothing is better than that moment. Nothing is better when people I meet give me genuine smiles. And when they really, actually, deep down in their mind and hearts have every intention of taking my card, and emailing me like said they would.

I don't know what it is *frowns* I also think I've been experiencing the worst case of uncreativity ever...I feel that when I write I lose all the eloquence with which I normally speak. I don't get it...I really don't. Maybe it's my brain, maybe how I write is a reflection of how mixed up my marbles are...or maybe how stagnant they are.

But back to my forgetfulness. This has been the second time (within the last few days) that I've forgotten my charger at work. It's my only way to wake up in the morning and since this is the 21st century it's the only way I can tell time. But yeah, I don't know what gives...I'm beginning to feel a little dismayed. That vacation I took a few weeks ago did wonders for me, and now all I can think of is "when's my next one?"

I just realized I have a ten dollars off coupon for CVS that I can use on any facial product and I'm hoping despite its utter rattiness that I didn't trash it...

But back to the problem at hand, what the hell am I going to do? I don't know what to do anymore. I want to use the expensive stuff but I'm not sure if it really works and it's expensive. I'm over using the cheap stuff because, well it sucks.

At any rate I would like to get back to the days where my mom bought me Kiehls and one of my dorm mates made a comment along the lines of 'no wonder your skin looks so good'

I went to Diz Gibran's mixtape celebration at Crooks & Castles and it was AWESOME. A grip of cool people, some familiar faces and beaucoup cameras (everyone is taping) were there. Anyway, I drank my fair share only to find the proof above average, and the drunkenness wrapping itself around me.

So we head to this black Hollywood spot and thus commences the average hollywood BULLSHIT.

The bouncers (except for the one closest to the door) had their heads up their gd asses. Our party was getting a table and the 20 dollar cover they were 'asking' for was out of my budget...and while I'm at it fuck ANY nightclub trying to make me pay anything over 10 bucks and not including a drink with that, this is LA, we're all struggling and making it. I professionally party and drink for free, and at places that DON'T charge some bs cover and have obnoxious guards at the door.

Anyways we do get into the establishment and it is indeed poppin-outside of the gratuitous wearing of Ed Hardy- I'm glad I went there.

March 16, 2009—Look on the bright side—this luminous new jellyfish species doesn't sting.

Jellyfish expert Lisa Gershwin caught the unnamed species in early March while swimming near a jetty off the Australian island of Tasmania with a "phototank"—a small aquarium that makes it easy to photograph sea life.

The jellyfish does not emit its own light, as bioluminescent creatures do. (Related: "Monster Glowing Squid Caught on Camera.")

Rather, its rainbow glow emanates from light reflecting off the creature's cilia, small hairlike projections that beat simultaneously to move the jellyfish through the water.

Though the glowing jelly is Gershwin's 159th species discovery in Australia, she still finds the discovery "simply splendid."

For one, the jelly is relatively large—5 inches (13 centimeters) long.

The new species also belongs to Ctenophora, a "strange and poorly known" group of animals, said Gershwin, curator of natural science at the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery in Tasmania.

The invertebrate is also incredibly fragile—it shatters as soon as it touches a net, she said.

I LOVED them I tell you, I even went through great lengths to convert people to loving them (and once they tried them, it was a wrap). Nevertheless, what turned out to be a munchie-fueled binge fest chock full of sesame sticks ended up becoming a 10 minute liaison with my toilet- barfing. Since then it hasn't been the same.

The thrill is gone...

Hopefully revolutionizing a non iPod-infiltrated lifestyle. Because I'll tell you, I've had the lot of them for a while and they're not made to work. I've had 5 or 6 I swear to you- even when I hadn't dropped them, they would just stop- I've seen the most awful "your hd is now DEAD" folders pop up on iPods. I swear every time I sent it to get fixed, they send it back with a new frowny face folder-icon. *smh*

Anyways, we'll see how Samsung YP-U3 leads me for the paltry $25 price tag. Samsung already gets the yuckface for making crappy phones, and USB isn't exactly the fastest way to upload things. Go figure. I'm outta here...it's a sunny day...

It went down swimmingly to say the least, I was a little overwhelmed with all the people who were there but after taking a quick breather it was all well. Nevertheless there were a SO many familiar faces which I'm never disappointed about- and I'm even happier there were a lot of unfamiliar ones as well.
